SOLO COMPETITION

The OFF STAGE LIVE Solo Battles are a high-energy, mixed-style competition designed to showcase individuality, musicality and performance. Bringing dancers into the spotlight, this format challenges them to perform, adapt and stand out in the moment.

Dancers begin by lining up and taking part in individual spotlight rounds, where each dancer performs for 30 seconds to a track chosen on the day. This first stage is all about musicality, confidence and interpretation, giving every dancer the chance to make an impression.

From these rounds, the top dancers in each age category and level are selected to progress into the battle stage.

At OFF STAGE LIVE, the competition goes beyond performance. With industry-led judging, clear scoring criteria and a focus on development, dancers are supported to progress, not just perform. The aim is to create a platform where talent is recognised, feedback is meaningful and every group leaves with a better understanding of how to grow.

GENRE

All styles are welcome and celebrated. Dancers may represent any style, with the format encouraging versatility and creativity across a range of music and movement.

PERFORMANCE GUIDELINES

  • All dancers take part in a 30-second spotlight performance

  • Music is selected on the day, requiring real-time interpretation

  • Judges select the top 16 dancers in each age category and level

  • Selected dancers progress into knockout battle rounds

  • Battles continue through elimination stages to a final

  • Performance under pressure

  • Consistency across rounds

COMPETITION STANDARDS

  • To ensure a positive and professional environment:

  • All performances must be family-friendly

  • No inappropriate gestures or explicit content

  • Music is controlled by the event

  • Unsportsmanlike behaviour may result in disqualification
