COMPETITION

The OFF STAGE LIVE Group Competition is a high-energy showcase of creativity, artistry and technical excellence. Designed to deliver a professional and seamless experience, groups take to the stage to perform, compete and make their mark in front of an experienced industry judging panel.

All styles of dance are welcome and celebrated. Groups are scored within their chosen style, while also being considered alongside all entries, creating a fair and well-rounded competition environment. The competition is open to all ages and levels, providing an inclusive platform for dancers at every stage of their journey.

The day is carefully structured to ensure smooth scheduling, minimal delays and a high-quality experience for both performers and spectators. Each routine is given the space to shine within a professionally run environment that reflects the energy and standard of the industry.

At OFF STAGE LIVE, the competition goes beyond performance. With industry-led judging, clear scoring criteria and a focus on development, dancers are supported to progress, not just perform. The aim is to create a platform where talent is recognised, feedback is meaningful and every group leaves with a better understanding of how to grow.

To ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all competitors, please review the following entry requirements:

Groups
• Minimum of 5 dancers
• Maximum of 30 dancers
• Schools may enter multiple groups
Solos
• One dancer per entry
Duos/Trios
• Two or three dancers per routine
Battles
• Individual entries only

General Information
• All music must be submitted in advance
• Competitors should be ready at least 30 minutes before their scheduled performance time
• Late arrivals may risk disqualification
• Age categories are based on the dancer's age on EVENT DAY!
• Group routines should not exceed 2 minutes 30 seconds

HOW IT WORKS

At OFF STAGE LIVE, dancers perform once but have multiple opportunities for recognition and success.

Each entry will be judged within its age category and dance style, whilst also being eligible for overall awards and special recognition opportunities.

SOLO EXAMPLE

If Maria is 10 years old and enters a Lyrical Solo, she will perform once and be judged in:

• Under 12 Lyrical Solo
• Overall Lyrical Solo Category
• Highest Scoring Solo of the Day

​

GROUP EXAMPLE

If Maniacs enter an Under 16 Hip Hop Group, they will be judged in:

• Under 16 Hip Hop Groups
• Overall Hip Hop Groups
• Highest Scoring Group of the Day

​

DUO/TRIO EXAMPLE

If Lily and Mia enter a 16+ Tap Duo, they will be judged in:

• 16+ Tap Duos/Trios
• Overall Tap Duos/Trios
• Highest Scoring Duo/Trio of the Day

This structure gives every dancer more opportunity, more recognition and greater value from each entry.

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:

  • Performance = how it looks & feels

  • Technique & Choreography = how it’s created  & executed

COMPETITION STANDARDS

  • To ensure a positive and professional environment for all participants:

  • All choreography must be family-friendly, with no inappropriate gestures or explicit content

  • Music must not contain offensive language

  • Costumes should support the performance and be appropriate for the age group

  • Any violation of these guidelines may result in disqualification

  • No more than 30 Dancer per group

  • Minimum of 5 Dancers for Groups

  • School can enter as many groups as they like
